Daniel and Genaye Stephenson originally moved to Darwin in 2017 from Albany, Western Australia, after a brief stint in Kununurra. They embraced the lifestyle and found purpose in the work they loved. During their time in Darwin, Daniel worked as a subcontractor carpenter for other builders, while Genaye established her own bookkeeping business. Together, they took a leap of faith in 2017, founding La Perouse Homes.

La Perouse Homes focused on renovating and extending older Darwin houses, transforming them into modern, character-filled homes that complemented the tropical landscape. Daniel and Genaye thrived on the creativity and challenge of breathing new life into older, often dilapidated homes. Their commitment to quality, customer satisfaction, and strong family values became the foundation of their business.

In 2020, Daniel and Genaye made the decision to return to Albany, reconnecting with their roots and bringing La Perouse Homes with them. While their business philosophy remains unchanged, they now apply their expertise to creating bespoke builds and quality renovations in the Albany region.

Genaye oversees the financial and business management side of La Perouse Homes, while Daniel remains “on the tools” and onsite daily. His hands-on presence ensures confidence and trust for their clients, who appreciate the personal investment and care he brings to every project.

La Perouse Homes is still a family business, built on strong values and a commitment to delivering work they are proud of. Positive customer relationships and doing what they promise continue to be the heart of everything they do.
